Each Sunday, we are offering a brief summary of the meditations from the previous week, as a kind of “index” inviting you to return to a previous meditation which may call to you.

Matthew Fox offers some wise insights from Indigenous and Tibetan Buddhist sources, particularly the teachings from Rafael Jesús González and Lama Tsomo.

October 25, 2022: What Is This Election About Anyway?

Matthew Fox explores some concerns revolving the upcoming elections in the United States, particularly the active dismantling of voters rights by the “Church of Donald Trump”. This effort is a direct act of disrespect to Martin Luther King Jr and others who fought to guarantee the right to vote for disenfranchised people.

October 26, 2022: The Meaning of the Mid-Term Elections, part II

In this DM, Matthew Fox expresses concerns regarding the active dismantling of democracy and the destruction of Mother Earth by people like billionaire Barre Seid and Leonardo Leo – a proud Opus Dei member. Thanks to SCOTUS, evil billionaires are able to funnel dark money, which is then used to fund the end of human & environmental rights.

Judith Browne Dianis, Executive Director of Advancement Project joined American Voices with Alicia Menendez to discuss the stakes heading into the 2022 midterm elections. MSNBC.

October 27, 2022: The Meaning of the Mid-Term Elections, part III

Continuing in a series of DMs on the Mid-Term Elections, Matthew Fox offers reflections on the government of the Koch brothers, by Opus Dei and for the corporations and billionaires who flood elections with dark money, all of which are byproducts of the “Church of Donald Trump”; formerly known as, the Republican Party and the antithesis of government for, by, and with the people.

October 28, 2022: The Meaning of the Mid-Term Elections, part IV

Matthew Fox offers reflections on the success of dark money to influence the United States government, turning it into a government of billionaires rather than a government grounded in the rights and needs of the people. This is a direct byproduct of Citizens United which legally allows dark money in government affairs and has been taken to the extreme thanks to members of the fascist religious order, Opus Dei. The Church of Donal Trump has benefited off of this corrupt government and has actively used its influence to create global chaos.

October 29, 2022: Mid-Term Elections: Hannah Arendt on Lies and Politics

In this DM, Matthew Fox offers insights on the Koch Brothers government, dark money, and the increased reign of fascism by offering wisdom from Political Philosopher, Author, and Holocaust Survivor, Hannah Arendt who stated: The sense by which we take our bearings in the real world —and the category of truth vs. falsehood is among the mental means to this end—is being destroyed by lies in politics.

This is what the mid-term election is about.

The Coming of the Cosmic Christ: The Healing of Mother Earth and the Birth of a Global Renaissance

In what may be considered the most comprehensive outline of the Christian paradigm shift of our Age, Matthew Fox eloquently foreshadows the manner in which the spirit of Christ resurrects in terms of the return to an earth-based mysticism, the expression of creativity, mystical sexuality, the respect due the young, the rebirth of effective forms of worship—all of these mirroring the ongoing blessings of Mother Earth and the recovery of Eros, the feminine aspect of the Divine.

Sins of the Spirit, Blessings of the Flesh: Transforming Evil in Soul and Society

Visionary theologian and best-selling author Matthew Fox offers a new theology of evil that fundamentally changes the traditional perception of good and evil and points the way to a more enlightened treatment of ourselves, one another, and all of nature. In comparing the Eastern tradition of the 7 chakras to the Western tradition of the 7 capital sins, Fox allows us to think creatively about our capacity for personal and institutional evil and what we can do about them.

A Spirituality Named Compassion: Uniting Mystical Awareness with Social Justice

In A Spirituality Named Compassion, Matthew Fox delivers a profound exploration of the meaning and practice of compassion. Original Blessing: A Primer in Creation Spirituality

Matthew Fox lays out a whole new direction for Christianity—a direction that is in fact very ancient and very grounded in Jewish thinking (the fact that Jesus was a Jew is often neglected by Christian theology): the Four Paths of Creation Spirituality, the Vias Positiva, Negativa, Creativa and Transformativa in an extended and deeply developed way.
Original Blessing makes available to the Christian world and to the human community a radical cure for all dark and derogatory views of the natural world wherever these may have originated.” –Thomas Berry, author, The Dream of the Earth; The Great Work; co-author, The Universe Story

Creation Spirituality: Liberating Gifts for the Peoples of the Earth

Fox’s spirituality weds the healing and liberation found in North American Creation Spirituality and in South American Liberation Theology. Creation Spirituality challenges readers of every religious and political persuasion to unite in a new vision through which we learn to honor the earth and the people who inhabit it as the gift of a good and just Creator.
“A watershed theological work that offers a common ground for religious seekers and activists of all stripes.” — Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat, Spirituality and Practice.

Today I would like to comment on our meditation for October 24, 2022: Wisdom from Indigenous Teachings and Tibetan Buddhism. On that date Matthew said that he recently received in the mail wisdom from two friends: From indigenous poet Rafael Jesús González comes the moving poem employing Hindu images fit for our times titled, “Lord Ganesh Under the Moon.” And from American Buddhist Lama Tsomo there arrived a beautiful book, part of a three part series on Buddhist Practice entitled, Ancient Wisdom for Our Times, Book 3: Wisdom, Deepening Connection. In Deep Ecumenism we can learn from one another, and develop a deeper appreciation and respect for each other’s teachings, traditions, and practices. “I [Matthew], for one, have learned a great deal from the insights of spiritual traditions other than my own”–as can be seen in his book, One River, Many Wells. Get it! You’ll love it !!! It is informative and inspiring !!!
