MAGA/Trump Book Finally Landing, and An Invitation

Today, Monday, is the day our shipment of my new book on Trump & The MAGA Movement as Anti-Christ: A Handbook for the 2024 Election is finally going to arrive (or tomorrow they tell us). 

Apologies to all who have been waiting, and Thank You for your patience. We too have been profoundly frustrated. The delay, we are told, was due to the colored paintings that prevented it from being printed digitally and “on demand.” So it had to go through a regular printing and shipping process. Dennis will be putting books you ordered into the mail immediately.

I remember fifty years ago, when I was teaching at Barat College, we scheduled a book signing event for what was my second book, Whee! We, wee all the Way Home: Toward a Sensual, Prophetic Spirituality. But the books did not arrive in time for the party! 

One Sacred Heart Sister, who was older, bright, funny and always wore her headdress a bit askew, went around saying, “a book signing without a book! A book signing without a book! That’s like a wedding without a bride; or a funeral without a corpse.” She was right.

Better to laugh than to stew.

Of course, the time crunch for this book is like no other, because one of the reasons for the book is to keep Trump and MAGA out of the White House. Time is of the essence for this very important election.

With that in mind, there is an event I want to bring to your attention on Thursday, October 3, this week. CSC—Creation Spirituality Communities—the non-profit run by some of the graduates of our CS programs over the years (and other people too)—is sponsoring a free Zoom event from 1-2 PM PT on Thursday afternoon. It will be recorded, so you can see it at another time if that works best for you.  In this “Call To Action” call, I will be speaking about the new book, AND we will brainstorm about how best to use it as a tool for the election. 

Some ideas that have come my way are these: 

• To spread the word and share the book to as many potential voters as possible and especially in the states that will decide the election. 
• To write a short paragraph review for Amazon book section (to do that one has to purchase the book on amazon however). 
• To contact local radio stations or podcasts you respect, or TV programs that interview authors, to let them know about the book. 
• Share my recent 12 minute interview on the Thom Hartmann show (see link below). 
• Organize your own Zoom gathering to discuss it in churches, synagogues, temples or elsewhere.

We have sent it to all Democratic congress people and senators, so you can contact their offices to include it in their toolboxes. Etc, etc.

Michelle Obama urges us to “Do something!” And this is my something, which I gave very rapid birth to following our workshop in Orvieto this summer. I started it the second week of July and now it is here. I hope it assists an important cause. I appreciate readers of the DM spreading the word too.
