November 2, 2026: Election 2026: Democracy Rises? A New Course: Mysticism Rising? (MF)
Matthew warns that we need to be alert to evil. German mystic and philosopher, Rudolf Steiner, once gave a talk to German priests, warning them that if priests talk about spirit without also talking about evil, they are preaching sentimentalism. Nine years later, Hitler took over Germany. And now, sentimental evangelical religion has given rise to MAGA. The opposite of evil is the Sacred. Another way to recover the sacred is to get to know the mystics—with both the heart as well as the head. With that in mind, Matthew invites us to a new course, beginning tomorrow, on the Convergence platform, where once a month we treat one or two mystics over a two-year period. Details are HERE.
November 3, 2026: Election Day 2026: A Great Day for Democracy? And for Spiritual Renewal? (MF)
Today is a very important day in America and even in human history. Will Americans wake up and throw off years of barbaric politics based on hatred, projection and violence, and reject a cruel and debased government? Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, has spent $466 million on this election to ensure he loses none of his privileges in the next Congress. How do real people and real voters compete with the dark money being poured into politics? Voting is a start. Matthew begins his 24-week course on the mystics this evening just before polls close on the East Coast. Now is the perfect time to return to our spiritual origins, our mystical selves, and to reinvent self, society and religion.
November 4, 2026: The Day After a Blue Wave: Return of Decency AND an Updated Democracy? (MF)
We celebrate the wonderful results of this extremely important election and lay out our expectations for a new Democratic Congress. Here are a few: 1) Put an end to dark money and Citizens United. 2) Install 13 justices in the Supreme Court. 3) Impeach Hegseth. 4) Dismantle ICE. 5) Bring back the EPA and Endangered Species Act, etc. 6) Restore SNAP benefits. 7) Support Ukraine and end the funding of Netanyahu’s war against Gaza. 8) Stop the Iran war. 9) Expand Medicaid and Medicare. 10) Establish limits and safeguards on AI.
November 5, 2026: The Blue Tsunami the Morning After (MF)
The blue wave is a wave felt around the world, and we can be proud that American voters stepped up and did to Trump what Brazilian voters did to Bolsonaro a week ago and what Serbian voters did standing up to fascism in their country. We are encouraged by the authenticity of so many new faces stepping into Congress with diverse backgrounds and worthy accomplishments. The victories of Black governors, including the first Black woman governor, the first Indigenous woman governor, Indigenous senators, and many young people, ready to move and lead and listen to the people and not the corporations, billionaires, and one very visible trillionaire. Well done, America!
November 6, 2026: The Dead/All Souls (GG)
At this time of All Souls’ Day, we remember that recovering the ancient attitude of reverence toward past generations is part and parcel of the new spirituality based on the cycle of life. We could, of course, simply go back to the roots of this Christian practice and celebrate Samhain. During All Souls’ Day, originally, the monks at Cluny Abbey honored the dead and prayed for their cleansing. Now, for those of us living in the northern hemisphere, the whole month of November is the season of dead leaves gracing the ground with their astonishing colors—a reminder of the glory of life in death. A time for silent meditation in front of the fire. As the dead wood goes up in living flames, the sparks are said to be souls of the dead speaking to you. Are you listening?
November 7, 2026: Winners & Losers from the Midterm Election (MF)
Among the losers of this midterm election are: Elon Musk, SCOTUS, ICE, Peter Thiel, Fox News, AI data centers, fascism, private for-profit prisons and detention centers, right-wing christofascists, racists, Putin, etc. Among the winners are: we the people, voters with a conscience, politicians with a conscience, future generations, Latinos, trans people, and Hope.
